Congratulations to Stephanie Mitchell who successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis entitled, “Investigating Bacterial Response To Environmental Pressure: Molecular-Level Characterization of Resistance to Engineered Nanomaterials” this afternoon.
Stephanie has been selected as one of 15 California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) Policy Fellows for the coming year where she will guide science and technology policy development in California and advise decision makers. The CCST is the most established and recognized state-level fellowship and will be an incredible training opportunity for Steph as she enters the science policy field!

Congratulations Drew on acceptance of a paper that he contributed to lead by the Pomerantz group entitled, "Development of a single culture E. coli expression system for the enzymatic synthesis of fluorinated tyrosine and its incorporation into proteins,” into the Journal of Fluorine Chemistry.
[6/22] Conrad (Bioorganic) and Andrew (Noble Metal Nanoparticles) are presenting at Gordon Research Conferences this week - always such a fun and thought-provoking experience!
